Intaglio processes in our workshop |

The workshop is located on the ground floor of our home. It has an area of 150 square meters with an open garden of 80 m2 where artists can work if the weather is fine. The main advantages to our workshop are the beautiful natural light, 12 linear meters of south-facing windows and the Mediterranean weather. All of these drawcards make the workshop a very comfortable place to think and work.
Our workshop is divided into zones.
Artist’s workplace, with a large table.
Mechanical zone with a wide variety of saws, milling machines, guillotines, flexible shafts, drills, and a set of electrical tools. Artists are able to work on metal materials (copper, iron, …) as well as on plastic and wood.
We have the copper plate maximum size100x200cm.
Aquatint area with an asphaltum box for plates up to 100x100 cm. and asphaltum oven for plates up to 70x80 cm. It’s also possible to use sprays, aerographs, sand or high pressure water.
Space dedicated to mordant (ferric chloride) with tanks of different sizes, one of them for plates up to 100x200 cm. This zone is complemented with a table to clean up plates with normal processes or using high pressure. Good ventilation.
Photo-etching area. The workshop is equipped to make photo-etching with copper plates on photo polymer emulsion film or directly over photo polymers. We have a pneumatic insulation vacuum machine for plates up to 120x120 cm.
Computer area to digitally manipulate images. Mac G5.
There is a glass table measuring 80x120 cm, a table for inking measuring 80x200 cm, two hot plates measuring 80 x 100 cm, an exhaust fan box to clean plates, a water tray 100x240 cm to dampen paper for printing, three motorized presses with bed sizes: 70x150 cm, 80x170 cm and 135x240 cm and a vertical press 50x50 cm.
The paper preparation and post-production area has a table measuring 240x210 cm, and a paper/board-cutting machine for paper up to 120x120 cm. In this area it is possible to hand cut paper for printing and work in bookbinding. We also have an area dedicated to dry prints in blotting papers up to 80x120 cm.and 130x240cm
